What is smart locker system?
A smart locker is a storage solution that has integrated technology built into it, allowing it to automate package delivery, notification, and distribution.
-
How many Lockers will the system support?
The system can connect to up to 254 slave controllers each able to control 16 lockers. Slave controllers must be on the same LAN.
-
How long does it typically take to have a locker system installed?
Since the system is locally made, it can be ready in as little as four (4) weeks from the time a design is approved.
-
Is the locker system safe against vandalism.
Security must be a concern. Despite the lockers being fabricated in a rugged fashion, a well lit, high traffic, surveilled area will be recommended. Efforts can be made to make the locker as discreet as possible, especially for installations with street/pavement access.
-
What site requirements do I need to provide?
Basically, a 110V socket and a internet availability (WiFi or Ethernet) are needed. The locker can be as big or small as the physical area allows.
-
What are some examples of site considerations that will influence the design of a Smart Locker solution?
Will the locker be loaded from behind in a staff only area? What type of items will the locker be used to distribute?
Technology
-
Can I make my own modifications to the system software?
The core of the locker system is not available as open source.
-
I read that a user can control the locker from their mobile. How is this possible?
The system, once able to validate the mobile device by OTP, can then trust the device to manage deliveries destined for the user.
Reliability
-
What happens if power is interrupted to the Locker?
The locks need electricity to be opened, not to stay locker.
-
How many lock operation cycles will the system offer?
Under normal use, it will offer no less than 500,000 cycles.
-
If a lock failed, is there a manual override?
Cabinets are designed with at least one backup method of opening an individual cabinet that has been rendered inoperable.
Privacy
-
What is the risk of having customer data breached?
The system does not operate on the public facing internet, though it can communicate with customer devices.
